Creative Commons Licenses
Rights holders have the option to release work via the repository under a Creative Commons license. These licenses describe sanctioned uses of the content beyond those cited above.
The copyright holder of any work submitted to the TAMU-CC Repository retains copyright to their work. Submission to the TAMU-CC Repository imposes no restrictions on future use of the copyright holder's work. It is a good idea to be explicit about what others can and cannot do with the Copyrighted work by applying a license to it. Creative Commons provides an easy way to license works. With the exception of CC0 (No Rights Reserved), all Creative Commons licenses require that any use of your work is credited to you. In many cases, either the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) or Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) is a good choice for content submitted to the TAMU-CC Repository, but the choice depends on the author's goals and intentions. CC0 is technically a waiver and not a license, and is therefore a forfeiture all copyrights, and places the work in the public domain.
